Following a New Longing: Closing One Chapter, Opening Another

“May you have the courage to follow your longing.”
— John O’Donohue

That line has been echoing in my heart for months. It perfectly captures this moment in my life.

I moved to Ellensburg almost six years ago, drawn to a town working hard to become a certified creative district. Four years ago, I opened Nuwave Gallery. I believed something beautiful could be built here. And together, we did.

Nuwave became more than a gallery. It became a gathering place, a creative home, and a space where artists and community could connect, celebrate, and grow together. These years have been full, stretching, and at times challenging — the kind of season that strengthens you and clarifies what truly matters.

Now, I’m following a new longing.

My Next Chapter

I’m taking a creative sabbatical. I’ll be traveling through Europe for a few months, walking landscapes that have inspired artists for centuries. After that, I’ll spend time in Colorado, eventually landing in mountain towns like Aspen and Vail. I’ll be immersing myself in new landscapes, communities, and experiences that will shape the next body of work.

This means I am moving from Washington State, and it also means Nuwave Gallery will be closing. Our final day open will be April 4, 2026.

Closing Collection Show

Before I go, I want to celebrate this chapter with a Closing Collection Show. This is the largest body of my work I’ve ever shown at once, and it’s a final opportunity to experience and collect pieces from this era. I’m releasing every painting I currently have in stock.

Large Originals

  • Available via silent auction or online BUY NOW purchase

  • Bidding opens March 6

  • Bidding closes April 3 at 7 PM

  • You can bid in person at the gallery or online

Smaller Originals & Prints

  • Available for purchase in person only at Nuwave Gallery

If you’ve ever wanted a piece from this chapter of my life, this is the moment.

Important Dates

  • March 6: Facilitating the Community Murals sponsored by the Arts Commission. A portion of proceeds will go toward funding more murals in downtown Ellensburg. It’s a night for creativity, connection, and celebrating public art.

  • March 6–April 3: Silent auction & Closing Collection Show ongoing

  • April 3: Goodbye Party during Art Walk. A celebration of gratitude, art, and community — come say goodbye, share a memory, and join in the excitement!

  • April 4: Final day Nuwave Gallery will be open

Custom Commissions

I’m accepting custom art orders until March 7. If you’ve been thinking about a piece made specifically for your home, reply to this post or email me to get started. All commissions placed by March 7 will be completed and shipped by April 16.

Retreats

Before I leave, there are still a few spots available in my retreats:

  • March Retreat in Ellensburg — a slow, intentional space to create, reset, and reconnect

  • September Mountains to Coast Retreat in California — explore, hike, and create alongside other artists in a stunning natural setting

These retreats are opportunities to step away from daily life, slow down, and immerse yourself in creativity. I would love to share this experience with you before my sabbatical.

Gratitude

Ellensburg gave me a place to grow, take risks, and build something meaningful. Thank you for showing up, collecting art, attending openings, sharing stories, and believing in this vision. You helped make it real.

I feel excited, clear, and ready for what’s ahead. New air. New altitude. New edges. New work.
