What is the California Creative Inspiration Trip?
This is a six-day, five-night adventure through some of California’s most breathtaking landscapes — Yosemite, Sequoia, and Big Sur. Led by artist and adventurer Erin Oostra, the trip combines outdoor exploration, creativity, and community.
We’ll hike under granite peaks, stand beneath ancient sequoias, kayak with sea lions, and soak up the wild beauty of Big Sur. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to slow down, reflect, and create through guided watercolor and journaling sessions — no art experience required.
Who is leading this trip?
Hi, I’m Erin Oostra — a Pacific Northwest artist, designer, and outdoor enthusiast who believes creativity and faith are deeply connected. My work is inspired by the beauty of the natural world, and I’m passionate about helping others rediscover wonder through art, adventure, and community.
This trip is about reconnecting — with nature, your creative side, and other like-minded travelers who crave authentic experiences in a world that often feels disconnected.
What makes this trip unique?
This isn’t your typical sightseeing tour. It’s a creative, faith-centered experience that blends outdoor adventure with time for reflection and artistic exploration.
Each morning, we’ll start with an optional “Creative Morning” — a short guided session where we’ll journal, sketch, or paint to capture what inspires us that day. Evenings will bring campfire conversations, shared meals, and a sense of connection you can only find in real life, off the grid.
You’ll come home with not just photos, but a heart full of memories, new friendships, and a sketchbook of inspiration.

What can I expect each day?
Every day will bring a new adventure:
Hike Yosemite’s waterfalls and granite cliffs
Visit the world’s largest trees in Sequoia and Kings Canyon
Kayak Monterey Bay alongside sea lions
Explore the iconic coastline of Big Sur
Paint, write, and reflect with daily creative prompts

Do I need to be an artist or super outdoorsy to join?
A good sense of your hiking ability is helpful, but these will not be crazy hikes. This trip is designed for all experience levels — whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just love being in nature, whether you’ve painted for years or never picked up a brush.
All you need is an open mind, a sense of curiosity, and a desire to connect with others and with yourself.
What’s the activity level?
This is an Adventure-Level trip, which means we’ll be hiking and moving most days, but nothing extreme. If you enjoy being active outdoors and can handle moderate hikes, you’ll do great.
How does payment work?
You can reserve your spot with just 25% down and pay the rest over time. Financing options make it easy to say yes to this adventure without stress.
Is there an early booking bonus?
Yes! If you book by November 10, 2025, you’ll receive a free art print from my shop as a special thank-you. You’ll be able to choose any print you love, and I’ll ship it right to your doorstep.
