Turning a Summit Into a Story: Lauren’s Mount Rainier Painting

Earlier this year, Lauren did something pretty incredible—she climbed Mount Rainier.

And this wasn’t just any climb. A few years ago, Lauren was diagnosed with a rare disease that left her so sick she couldn’t imagine getting back to doing what she loved—let alone tackling something as challenging as Rainier. This summit was her comeback, her way of saying, “I’m back.”

When she returned home, she knew she wanted something more lasting than just a photo. Something she could see every day and be reminded of the early mornings, the steep stretches, the view from above the clouds, and everything she pushed through to get there.

That’s where I came in.

Lauren and I teamed up to create a custom painting of Mount Rainier—specifically from the angle of her climb along the Disappointment Cleaver route. She sent me reference photos from the climb, maps of the route, and inspiration images. We talked through details like size (she chose 24x30 for a statement piece), color palette (all-white for that timeless, peaceful feel), and how to incorporate subtle, personal touches.

When she walks past it, she won’t just see a mountain—she’ll remember the sunrise at 13,000 feet, the push to the top, and the feeling of standing on the summit after everything she’s overcome.

That’s the magic of custom art. It’s not just about making something beautiful—it’s about freezing a moment that means everything to you.

Lauren’s story is a reminder to get outside, push for those big goals, and celebrate them in a way that lasts. Whether it’s a mountain you’ve climbed, a place you love, or a milestone you’ve reached, a custom piece can bring that memory to life in a way nothing else can.

If you’ve got your own epic adventure—or even just a place that feels like home—let’s talk about turning it into something you can hang on your wall and treasure for years to come.
