Transform Your Home with Contemporary PNW Art
Art has the unique ability to turn a house into a home, infusing it with warmth, personality, and a touch of inspiration. In these challenging times, finding ways to bring a sense of tranquility and beauty into our living spaces has never been more important. As a contemporary Pacific Northwest artist, my work is deeply inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of Washington State, capturing the essence of mountains, oceans, and forests through bold, fluid strokes and vibrant colors. My goal is to share this beauty with you and help transform your home with meaningful art.
Why Choose Contemporary Art for Your Home?
Contemporary art is all about capturing the essence of our times while pushing the boundaries of traditional techniques and ideas. It's dynamic, versatile, and often deeply personal, making it a perfect choice for modern homes. Here are a few reasons why contemporary art can enhance your living space:
Personal Connection: Art allows you to express your unique style and personality. Whether it's an abstract piece that speaks to your inner thoughts or a landscape that reminds you of your favorite place, contemporary art can create a personal connection in your home.
Aesthetic Appeal: Bold colors, fluid strokes, and innovative designs can add a touch of sophistication and elegance to any room. Contemporary art pieces often serve as focal points, drawing the eye and creating a harmonious atmosphere.
Emotional Impact: Art has the power to evoke emotions and memories, providing comfort and joy in everyday life. A well-chosen piece can uplift your spirits and create a calming environment.
Support for Artists: Purchasing contemporary art supports living artists, helping them continue their creative journeys and contribute to the cultural landscape.
Why Erin Oostra Art is the Best Choice
This year has been particularly tough for many, including myself. As an artist and business owner, I’ve faced financial challenges, but my passion for creating nature-inspired art keeps me going. Here's why choosing my art can make a difference:
Nature-Inspired Beauty: My art captures the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, bringing the essence of nature into your home. Each piece reflects my deep respect for the natural world, offering a tranquil yet dynamic experience.
Community Support: By purchasing my art, you’re not only enhancing your home but also supporting a local artist and the creative community in Ellensburg. This support helps sustain the careers of talented artists and enriches our town’s cultural fabric.
Personal Transformation: One of my proudest moments as an artist is witnessing the immediate connection people feel with my work. When someone sees a piece and decides to purchase it on the spot, it's a profound experience. This instant bond reaffirms the power of art to evoke emotions and memories.
Unique Offerings: From bold, fluid landscapes to abstract pieces, my work is designed to transform any space. Whether you’re looking for a statement piece or a subtle touch of nature, my collection has something to suit every taste.
Community Engagement: Through Nuwave Gallery, I organize art shows, workshops, and community events to foster a supportive network for artists and art enthusiasts. These initiatives provide opportunities to connect with the local art scene and enrich the cultural landscape of Ellensburg.

Rising above the wilderness outside Aspen, Colorado, the Maroon Bells are among the most recognizable and beloved peaks in the Rocky Mountains. Their dramatic ridgelines, rugged valleys, and constantly changing appearance have made this landscape an enduring symbol of the Colorado high country.
This 48 × 24 black-and-white mountain painting captures the Maroon Bells beneath a layer of snow, stripping the landscape down to light, shadow, texture, and form. The monochromatic palette draws attention to the scale of the peaks and the quiet stillness that settles over the mountains as winter begins to take hold.
Inspired by the wild beauty surrounding Aspen and the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, this original Colorado mountain artwork celebrates one of the state’s most iconic landscapes in a timeless, modern way. Created in mixed media and acrylic and finished in a black frame, it brings the rugged character of the Colorado Rockies into the home.

Before the chairlifts, ski runs, mountain homes, and streets of Breckenridge, there were simply the mountains.
Before Breck is a tribute to the wild landscape that defined this corner of Colorado long before it became one of the state’s most iconic mountain towns. Inspired by the peaks of the Tenmile Range surrounding Breckenridge, this green, white, and gray mixed-media painting imagines the landscape untouched, when nothing interrupted the relationship between mountain, forest, and sky.
A shifting sky moves across the painting, reflecting the famously unpredictable weather of the Colorado high country, where sunlight, clouds, and storms can transform the mountains in moments.
This original 48 × 24 Colorado mountain painting celebrates the timeless beauty of Breckenridge, Summit County, and the Rocky Mountains, and the wild landscape that existed long before we came here to ski, explore, build, and call these mountains home.

Inspired by a final hike through the French Alps, The Way Home captures the mountains surrounding La Mer de Glace above Chamonix, France.
The hike came on the last day of a two-month journey, at the threshold between an adventure ending and a new chapter beginning. Standing among ancient ice and towering peaks, the landscape became more than a memory of a place. It became a symbol of returning.
The mountains have always had a way of bringing me home. Through different seasons of life, they have offered adventure, solitude, challenge, and clarity. On this particular day, these were the mountains that pointed me home to Colorado, to the people I love, and to the life waiting for me there.
The Way Home is a reflection on the places that shape us, the journeys that change us, and the landscapes that somehow remind us where we belong.

This black-lit original, painted on a repurposed snowboard, draws inspiration from the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland. A mountain shaped by time, paired with something given a second life, this piece is a reminder that beauty can be found in what we choose to make new again.

As an artist coming from Seattle, my daily views used to be of Mt. Rainier. These days as I look out from the windows of my new home in Central Washington, I see the Stuart Range. The range lies within the eastern extent of the Cascade Range just southwest of Leavenworth. I’m reminded each time I see these majestic statues that with every move in life, there’s new beauty to enjoy around every corner + you never know where you might end up.

“Perhaps the mountains rise not to conquer the sky, but to remind us that even the earth carries within it a longing for heaven.”
Where the Earth Reaches Heaven is a collection of nine original mountain paintings, created to live together as one larger statement piece. Each work captures a different peak in black and white, celebrating the individual ridgelines, shadows, and forms that give every mountain its own presence.
Created with textured acrylic and mixed media, the mountains push beyond the traditional boundaries of each composition, giving the collection a sculptural sense of movement and depth. Alternating fields of black and white connect the nine individual landscapes while creating a striking rhythm when displayed together.
Individually framed in natural wood, each 12 x 12 original stands on its own, but together the nine pieces become something greater: a gathering of peaks reaching upward, each different, yet all drawn toward the same sky.
Designed to be displayed as a 3 x 3 installation, this collection brings the quiet strength and timeless beauty of the mountains into a modern home.
